This is what Beth McCarthy explores with her new EP IDK How to Talk To Girls, as revealed in one of her Instagram videos in which she describes what the EP is about, stating; ‘This is my chronological storytelling of me figuring out my sexuality.’
This EP is a fun ride to listen to Beth tell her story. With her bright personality and heart-on-sleeve attitude shining through each song, the former Voice contestant and TikToker takes a unique approach to love.
From the opening track What Do You Call It?, which looks into her discovering she was bisexual, to She Pretty which talks about her seeing a gorgeous woman at a bar and not knowing if she wanted to be with her or be like her.
As well as the title track IDK How To Talk To Girls, which is pretty self-explanatory about not knowing how to talk to girls. To First, Best, Hottest, which looks at her first experience with a woman being the best, and the closing track Not That Deep, which looks at having true feelings for a girl for the first time.
Overall, this EP is a wonderful listen from top to bottom, and you can put it on repeat and feel joy and want to cry at the same time, as well as being a great EP for individuals who are bisexual and straight alike. So if you haven’t listened to this EP or Beth McCarthy, you should have a listen as you will not regret it.
